Point Pod Connect UL Certification
Seb AroneyThe Point Pod Connect is certified to UL 962A. However, some customers have raised concerns because UL 962A specifically covers Furniture Power Distribution Units. This has led them to question whether the Point Pod is approved for use in kitchens, as advertised.
In contrast, Kitchen Countertop UL Codes include UL 498 and UL 943.
Despite being certified to UL 962A, the testing agency Intertek conducted separate liquid spill testing to ensure that the Point Pod Connect complies with the requirements for use on kitchen countertops.
As a result, the Point Pod Connect is certified for use on kitchen countertops.
The Intertek report, user manual, and product label all state that the Point Pod Connect is “Suitable for installation in a kitchen countertop surface.”
