The short version
Lew Electric
Lew’s two countertop ranges
Both are made for kitchen countertops and both are hardwired. The big differences are how they open, how much room they need underneath and which features each version has.
Round · manual lift
PUR round pop up
- Lifts by hand: press the top, then pull it up. It rotates about 340° when raised.
- Many versions in 15A and 20A. The PUR20GACQD has a 20A GFCI duplex, USB-A and USB-C (30W each) and Qi wireless charging up to 15W; the Stone Top PUR20GFCMRD holds a disc of your countertop up to ½″ thick.
- IP43 rated, and Lew says it passed the UL 498 spill test.
- Hardwired: its 5 ft cord connects to a junction box under the counter. The PUR20GACQD needs about 13″ below a 3 cm counter (BuyRite Electric listing).
- Metal, resin and glass tops in several finishes; Lew gives its countertop series a two-year warranty.
Square · flip-up

- Sits recessed in the counter; press the oval button and the outlet flips up.
- 20A outlets, with GFCI and USB-A/C versions; listed as meeting UL 498.

Questions
Lew Electric pop up FAQs
Do Lew Electric pop ups meet the NEC?
Lew says its PUR pop ups are engineered to comply with NEC 406.5(E) for countertops; they’re ETL Listed and conform to UL 498 and UL 943. Point Pod Connect is ETL Listed to UL 962A; connect it to a GFCI-protected receptacle or branch circuit and install it in accordance with NEC 406.5(E) and local codes. Hubbell’s countertop receptacles are cULus Listed. Your local inspector has the final say; our kitchen island outlet code guide covers the rules.
Are Lew Electric pop ups motorized?
No. The round PUR rises when you press the cover and pull it up, and the square PUFP-CT flips up when you press its button. Lew’s custom-top PUR for stone works the same way. For one-touch motorized lift, look at Point Pod Connect or our V3 range.
Which ones have GFCI built in?
Lew’s PUR20G models, such as the PUR20GACQD, have a 20A GFCI built in, and the PUFP-CT comes in GFCI versions. Point Pod Connect has no built-in GFCI: its cord plugs into a GFCI-protected outlet.
Which needs the least space under the counter?
Lew’s square PUFP-CT, at about 2″ under a 3 cm counter. The round PUR20GACQD needs about 13″ (BuyRite Electric’s listing), our V3 15¾″ below the surface and Point Pod Connect 19″ from the top of the counter.
Does Lew Electric sell the Point Pod?
Yes. Lew Electric is one of several US retailers of the Point Pod, as we are, so you can buy it from either of us.
We sell Point Pod, our own V range and Hubbell, and we’ve kept this comparison to published specifications. Not sure which suits your counter? Send us a photo and we’ll help you choose.
